Backcountry Flight
Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:26AM Thanks everyone for checking out my new site! Check back weekly for updated blog posts.
About six months back I finished my private pilot license, ever since that I have been flying around the country taking pictures, discovering new places and earning many new experiences. Last month I took off from Edmonton, Ab. heading for Jasper/Hinton airport, a small grass strip located on the outskirts of Jasper National Park(AB., Canada). The goal was to get some first hand experience flying in the mountains, also it was a photography/camping journey. My equipment list consisted of myself, my cessna 150, camera gear, camping gear and fly rod. I spent three days tenting underneath the wing of the plane. Temps during the day were well in the teens but nights were a chilling -7°. The experience of flying threw massive mountain valleys at 10,000 feet is something that can only be justified by doing. The photographs taken below don't justify the feeling of being there but they do capture the beauty of Canada's rocky mountains!

Wow. Here is a young man with energy and enthusiasm for life, for flying, for photography. I know from my own 20 years or
more flying with a variety of pilots, aircraft, conditions and locations that Aerial Photography is special. And attracts a special
breed of people that might be considered (and are) risk-takers. Darryl has a unique video, worth watching and listening to,
he has demonstrated mature capability (seemingly beyond his years) for a young man. No doubt the world shall hear much
much more about Darryl Zubot, his travel, his flying, his photography and some of his thoughts about life. All good. From the
on-going blog I look forward to observing his journey. Safe Travels Young Man. (Some of my own thoughts on a variety
of subjects can be found on www.blog4change.com and then clicking on John Kitsco).
