Winter madness winding down
Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 9:23PM Hello folks....
THE SNOW IS MELTING!!! Finally I can feel spring coming. It's been such a long winter, cold, snowy and depressing. Though i've still managed to get in the air at least once a week. I have battled and engine fire, condo flooding, two alternator failures on my car and one on my airplane, a stuck valve, frozen oil line which ended with a windshield full of oil, frozen water in my fuel.....It's been a huge learning curve dealing with these issues. I hope it makes me smarter, safer, and better prepared for future endeavours.
There's not much to photograph in the winter around these parts, but I do have a few interesting photo's to share. A trip up to Fort Mcmurray has opened my eyes, not only to how we are destroying our lands but the scary power that is out there to accomplish something this massive. I felt like I was flying over a different planet. The ground is black, sky is yellow and brown from the trucks digging up the land, it's not a pretty site to see first hand. I hope that we can all change from this, find better solutions to power our vehicles and airplanes and homes.
Lastly I just want to mention about Japan. I am deeply sorrowed by the loss the japanese have had from last weeks Tsunami. I am glued to the tv in hopes for better news about their Nuclear meltdown. I was happy to see that the UN is putting into effect a no fly zone in Libya!!! I will be donating to Japan in their efforts for recovery.
